Meeting with Associate Chief Justice Hall – Diversity in the Judiciary

Firoozeh Rose Bahrami, President of ICLP, joined representatives from other legal professional organizations to meet with Associate Chief Justice Hall to discuss diversity in appointment of judiciary. The meeting with Justice Hall included discussions about systemic changes the groups believe are most urgent to improve equity in the legal profession and judiciary. The groups also discussed what barriers their members encountered in pursuit of judicial appointments, and what supports would be most helpful and mentorship models that have proven effective in supporting diversity in judicial roles. There will be a follow up meeting to explore different strategies further.
